Meet Our Staff 1

Gemma Box
Year 3-6

Hi, my name is Gemma and I am so excited to be living in The Loop and joining the ULPS team in 2024!

I have a Bachelor of Education majoring in Special Needs. I have been a middle and upper primary school teacher and for the past 8 years. I have also had several school leadership roles throughout this time.

I am experienced in teaching students with a wide variety of needs and catering for their individual learning needs. I believe in creating safe and supportive learning environments for my students, where the whole child is nurtured. The child is at the centre of my decision making and I believe they learn best when they feel safe and cared for.

I am married with a young son and a dog. I love to go out for early morning walks along the coast with my son and dog. I enjoy reading and cooking. I collect earrings and have a small collection of classroom themed ones that I love to wear to work. My husband and I watch a lot of sports all year long. Throughout the AFL season we watch almost every game of footy. Our favourite team is West Coast.

I’m looking forward to working with all of our families.

Meet Our Staff 2

Ellie Sanford
Year K-2

Hello!

I am Ellie, the kids will get to know me as Miss Ellie and I am so excited to be joining the Useless community.

I am originally from Busselton, but I began my teaching journey 5 years ago at Cue Primary School and then continued on to Wongan Hills. I have experience in a variety of roles including, Year 3-6 classroom teacher, a year as the schools only teacher from K-6, and most recently, I have worked as a Pre-primary and Year 1 teacher.

I am thrilled to be working in the K-2 classroom for the next 3 years. My passion is early years phonics instruction and intervention. I love witnessing the joyful moments as everything comes together and students begin reading and writing!

I can’t wait to create a safe, kind and fun classroom family in which all community members know they are welcome!

My partner Jordan, and my dog Ollie, will also be moving to town. Jordan works FIFO so she will be in and out of town, however, our little family is very excited to be a part of the community and we can’t wait to meet you all!
